I figure the very least I could do is walk 50km and raise a little money for them. If you feel so inclined to donate, click this link or on the image above to make it happen.
While the walking doesn’t officially start until October, Winston the Wonder Poodle has been at me to get going! So we have been doing a few regular walks around the neighbourhood and the big lake at the bottom of our street.
It is funny how much clarity going for a walk brings. At times when Warwick’s brain is full, it is a great way to simply be present.
I leave my phone at home, I listen to the world around me, I say hello to anyone we walk past, and just consider the world around me. Sometimes my brain starts to fill again, and I try and let it pass and get back to thinking about the walk and my buddy Winston.
What about you?
Do you get clarity when you go for a walk?
When you go for a walk, what is your routine?
One Foot Forward at a time I will achieve my 50km. Like all the things in life we try to achieve, just putting one foot forward or simply starting with one small piece is the best way to start. The momentum can only grow from there.

I chuckled as I read the words in Kevin Kruse’s insightful book, 15 Secrets Successful People Know About Time Management: “Throw away your task list.” In my time management and Juggling Elephants training programs I am continually surprised at the number of people who still use such a list as their primary guide for their […]
I first met Julie Faupel during a week-long personal growth retreat and learnt how to get Closer to Your Customer. The retreat required a total digital detox and abstinence of any conversation related to career, work or business. Julie and I became fast friends and for me personally, the retreat experience was transformational. Fortunately, the […]
One of the most common buzzwords of 2022 on how to Create a Working Culture has to be the word ‘feedback’. My sense is that leaders and managers for the most part want to get better than this, and it could therefore be a major goal for 2022. As you might expect however, there’s a […]
Three small steps to help you use New Research Authentic Leadership as your strategy to improve engagement and retain your talent. It seems just about every day your news feed has a new article talking about the (admittedly catchy) “Great Resignation. And geez, so sorry about adding yet another. I’m guessing just about every leader […]
If you’ve ever sat through a presentation that left you wondering if you showed up at the wrong venue, most likely the organiser and planner didn’t put much thought into HIRING KEYNOTE SPEAKER. When investing in a keynote speaker you want to get the most bang for your buck, especially considering some of the exorbitant […]
