We’ve recently been on an investment drive to raise massive capital for our product, Lohocla and the number we are gunning for is rather massive relative to what we were thinking years ago and as such we Earn Your Stripes,
The funny thing is that the people we are contacting today are the very same people we were in contact with 3 or 4 years ago when we got all the no’s.
I couldn’t understand back then why everyone was saying no because I knew we had a good product, but the truth of the matter is that we needed to Earn Your Stripes yet and hadn’t accrued half the amount of traction we have accrued today.
It really comes down to filling your place, being able to outgrow where you are while you are looking at where you’re trying go.
Most people get frustrated by things happening slow or not happening, but what I’ve learnt is that there is no substitute for process, what you want to do will take as long as it requires and no more or less than that.
Your task is to do all that you can with what you can and win with that.
You must learn to do great things in a small place, so you can be promoted to do great things in a great place.
Now that I know what I know, I can definitely demand the numbers we are demanding because we are looking to solidify South Africa and enter global markets, and this is because we have earned our stripes, and this is what I want to leave you with today.
Nobody is going to invest in your idea until you can prove that you’ve put all that you can into your idea and they can see the benefit for themselves. It will always be a transaction of giving and receiving.
Earn your stripes. Don’t be a gimmick.
“Motivation determines what you do, ability determines what you’re capable of doing; attitude determines how well you do it. Your attitude determines your altitude.”

Whatever you call them, Generation Z – the youngest generation is changing the rules, challenging our boundaries and recreating a generationally cohesive workforce! My first job in high school was working at a grim bagel shop called the Bagel Baker. This was pre-Starbucks, where being a barista has an element of cache’. This was […]
WHAT MAKES A WINNING TEAM: 4 key lessons from the lion pride and the victorious 2019 RWC Springbok rugby team It was an exceptional result that captivated a nation. One year ago this November South Africa’s national rugby team, the Springboks, lifted the Webb-Ellis trophy into the Yokohama sky, winners of the 2019 Rugby World […]
I attend a lot of WHY EVENTS MUST ALWAYS HOST all over Australia as a professional speaker and I have noticed a trend of WHY EVENTS MUST ALWAYS HOST WELCOME TO COUNTRY. When events are hosted by government, they are always opened with a Welcome to Country from a local indigenous person. At the very […]
As women we don’t actually talk about our periods that much. However, since I have been taking Peony Rose I have brought the conversation up with many of my friends. What surprised me most is how many women really suffer each month. Not just slight pains, but chronic mood swings, intense tiredness, pain that requires bed rest […]
I am as outraged as you are when I heard the news of the violent death of Uyinene Mrwetyana in September last year, the heartbreak and the anguish felt physically unbearable. I was overwhelmed by grief and outrage. I was consumed with terror for our daughters. As I started to catch my breath and look […]
When I am working from home, one of my favorite places to go when I need a break is my daughter’s apiary (bee yard). I am absolutely fascinated by these amazing creatures and WHAT YOU CAN LEARN. Between their work ethic and how they function together as a colony, I think I could sit and […]
One evening in December 1994 a life-threatening situation with a friend of mine was getting her washing off the passenger seat of her car when the door opened, a man put a knife to her throat and said, “Move over or I’ll kill you.” She moved over into the passenger seat, and even helped him […]
This expedition was the first in a series of five Beyond Engulfing Magnificence Expeditions with Jacques Marais. The idea was to mountain bike the edge of the incredible Namib Desert from Serra Cafema on the Angolan border to Swakopmund along the coast of Namibia. I’m on the edge of a gigantic granite outcrop. Ep.2/9 | Engulfing […]
