Kim Stephens is a Cape-based copy writer with a passion for equality, adventure and perfect 1-liners. Kim launched A PR consultancy in 2007. With a qualification in PR and Business Communication, she spent 5 years in the radio industry and another 5 years navigating the magazine industry.

Following her passion for innovative, effective communication Kim actively forged relationships with experienced sports and lifestyle photographers, and social media consultants which resulted in a comprehensive offering for clients such as BOS Sport, Buff® South Africa, Wild runner Events, Osprey, Balega, Trigger point, Fuel belt, La Sportive, Hydro Flask and Sea to Summit as well as clients and projects such as ASICS, Nedbank Tour de Tuli, 10s Rugby, Otter African Trail Run, Coleman and Hi-Tec South Africa.

As her own sporting interests grew, and her kids become competitive in their various sporting endeavors, her consultancy became exclusively sports oriented, predominantly sporting event coverage.

When Covid hit, sports got cancelled. Along with her thriving consultancy. Kim started writing satire on Facebook. She wrote about middle class South Africans in lockdown. She wrote about her Sixty60 drivers. This writing went viral.

Sixty60’s agency offered her a job.

Kim Stephens started as a Senior Copywriter for 99 cents in 2021, exclusively for the Checkers Sixty60 brand In this role she has produced TV scripts, radio scripts, digital copy, print, copy, in-app communication and push notifications. Kim works within the most incredible team.

In 2022 Kim Stephens published her first book, Hold the Line. A combination of her life story, her passion for ultra-distance running, political satire, and a humorous summary of South Africa’s lockdown from a suburban perspective.

In 2023 Sixty60 announced to the agency that they had invested in a huge Rugby World Cup Campaign. Kim’s old world, and new life collided. And Kim Stephens went on a marketer’s dream journey that even included getting a Sixty60 bike to Paris for the final. Yes, that was real!

Her unique ability to blend storytelling, data-driven insights, and a touch of humor into her presentations made her an instant hit. Audiences were drawn to her engaging style and practical takeaways that they could apply to their own marketing strategies. Word of her presentations quickly spread, and invitations to speak at national and international conferences started pouring in.

One of the defining moments in Kim’s career was when she was invited to deliver a keynote address at the annual South African Marketing Summit. Her presentation, titled “The Power of Storytelling in Branding,” left an indelible mark on the audience.

It emphasized the importance of humanizing brands through compelling narratives and resonated deeply with marketers seeking to create emotional connections with their customers.
