Jessica Ennis-Hill is a former athlete, known for her talents in the Heptathlon. Having claimed an impressive medal tally, Jessica set the British national record for the Heptathlon with 6955 points.
Having also claimed the title of World Champion three times, Jessica Ennis-Hill is now booked as a female motivational speaker for corporate events to share the successes of her sporting career.
Jessica claimed her first major victory with two silver Commonwealth Medals at the 2004 Youth Games. Off to a flying start, Jessica then went on to claim the win of the Heptathlon at the 2005 European Athletics Junior Championships- setting the British Junior Record with an impressive 5891 points.
Jessica Ennis-Hill excelled throughout her sporting career, claiming a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games and a silver at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. She also returned victorious with a gold at the 2009, 2011 and 2015 World Championships. Other prominent wins include silver and gold at the World Indoor Championships 2010 and 2012 in the Pentathlon and gold at the European Championships in 2010.
Jessica has also committed her time as an Ambassador of the Jaguar Academy of Sport, a columnist for The Times, a Patron of Sheffield Children’s Hospital and the Barrie Wells Sports Foundation. Identifying a lack of relatable advice for women’s training and health, Jessica responded by launching the fitness app Jennis– providing important advice and tips for women of all walks of life. Highly commended throughout her career, Jessica has been appointed both CBE and DBE for Services to Athletics and became the second woman to receive the BBC Sports Personality Lifetime Achievement Award.

Becoming Olympic champion kick-started a new chapter in Jessica’s career, which included more media attention and off-track commitments. Accolades continued to come and Jessica was awarded an MBE for her services to sport. She also enjoyed another life-changing moment in 2013 when she and Andy got married. And then in 2014, she gave birth to a baby boy, Reggie.
With the 2015 world championships fast approaching and the Rio Olympics the following year, Jessica and her coach, Toni had a decision to make. Could she get back to full fitness and compete for more titles? The answer was yes. Applying the same dedication and determination she’d shown throughout her career, Jessica set about her return to athletics.
Just 15 months after giving birth, Jessica Ennis-Hill won the heptathlon world title in Beijing – her third world championship gold medal in a row. Then at the Rio Olympics in 2016 – having led the competition after the first day – Jessica claimed a silver medal. It was a huge achievement and the perfect way for Jessica to call time on her glittering career.
A new chapter
More than 10 years after her first senior appearance, Jessica closed the curtain on her career in athletics. She was offered a Damehood shortly after her retirement in 2016 and moved on to a brand new chapter in her life, which included the arrival of her daughter, Olivia.
Jessica Ennis-Hill currently lives in her home city of Sheffield, where she continues her work as a role model, campaigning for charities that are close to her heart and inspiring others to live a fit and healthy lifestyle. She has recently written a series of books for children, ‘Evie’s Magic Bracelet’ with co-author Elen Coldecott.
2016 and beyond
As Jessica Ennis-Hill went from Olympic Athlete to mother to be, she was surprised by the lack of current and relatable advice on training and health for women in her position. So instead Jess begun sourcing her own expert advice, and sharing it with her close circles. As more and more people asked for it, Jennis – her fitness app – was born.
