Kriya Gangiah is undoubtedly one of South Africa’s most diverse media personalities.
Blessed with a healthy dose of the so-called X-factor and a work ethic like no other, Kriya is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with.
The vivacious presenter, actress, MC and businesswoman has come a long way since presenting Craz-E on eTV in 2009. Currently a presenter for Mela on SABC 3 and SuperSport, it is easy to see why Kriya is both loved and respected in the industry.
Even with more than enough reason to boast, it is remarkable how humble and grateful Kriya is. Her enthusiasm and gratitude about her career are infectious, as she remains grateful to get paid to talk.
Kriya Gangiah first became known to the South African public in 2007 when she joined the TUKS FM team. It did not take long for her career to take off. In only three years listeners could enjoy their lunchtime with Kriya as she hosted the Out to Lunch show every weekday between 12 and 3. This was the start of Kriya’s relationship with the South African media.
Kriya’s diversity comes across in that she has worked in both radio and TV. She has also been featured in various print media campaigns in her capacity as a model.
Some of her career highlights include her involvement in the ad campaigns of notable companies like Coca Cola and MTN as well as her time as a presenter on ETV’s youth program CRAZ-E from 2009 – 2013 and the South African Celebrity news show ZAlebs on Soweto TV and Glow TV.
During this time she was also part of the Highveld Stereo team. In 2010 Kriya made her silver screen debut in a South African produced movie “The Race-ist”, alongside the likes of Craig Palm, Ian Roberts, DJ Fresh and Jonathan Pienaar.
She also spent a year working with many of the biggest names in South African radio at online radio station Ballz Visual Radio as a producer and presenter on their show The Business.
Kriya Gangiah is an avid baker and enjoys a good bubblegum milkshake in her free time.
